CNC-Tuning: RB-Messwerkzeuge Turns to Robotics

Upgrading to increase productivity: in order to meet both customer demands and the complex requirements of the manufacturing industry, RB-Messwerkzeuge plans on using a robot to load a 5-axis CNC milling machine.

Welcome to the team, Gabby! Gabby is the name of the GARANT Basic Automation Loading System developed by Hoffmann Group, which, from the beginning of this year, will support our manufacturing operations.

Developed specifically for the CNC machining industry, the new automation solution will be used on our established Hermle 5-axis CNC milling machine, which will be loaded and unloaded by Gabby's powerful NACHI robot arm. An intuitive HMI panel with memory function allows our staff to program, control, set up, and retool the machine quickly and easily. The smart solution thus ensures optimization of manufacturing processes, reduces non-productive times to a minimum, and relieves the workload. Gabby also guarantees safe operation, being equipped with an integrated laser scanner monitoring the safety zone around the machine, and linked to an intelligent door-control system, thanks to which the loaded machine is securely locked.

By the way, Gabby is not only willing to work night and weekend shifts, but also turns out to be a real eye-catcher. In 2022, the German Design Award was awarded to the Hoffmann system for its functionality and design. Yes, our new team member is quite the allrounder!
